(Glendale, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s cross country team took part in the ACU Invitational on Saturday in Glendale.
Freshman Mykayla Tarwater (Tucson Magnet HS) was the top finisher for the Aztecs as she took 15th place out of 35 competitors in the 5K (3.1 mile) race with a time of 21 minutes, 59.3 seconds. She was the fourth among ACCAC competitors.
Freshman Emalyn Brown (Canyon del Oro HS) placed 19th with a time of 22:28.5 while freshman Oksana Giron (Sunnyside HS) took 22nd at 22:43.5. Freshman Candice Pocase (Santa Rita HS) was 23rd as she crossed the finish line at 22:47.3.
The Aztecs will compete in the NJCAA Region I Championships on Friday at the Glendale Heroes Regional Park in Glendale.
