(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College women’s soccer player Mari Acosta (Sahuarita HS) earned recognition from the ACCAC Conference on Monday for her stellar performance.
Acosta, a freshman midfielder/forward, was named ACCAC Co-Player of the Week for the week of August 30 – September 5. She received the honor along with Scottsdale Community College freshman Emma Green.
Acosta, along with the Aztecs, have had strong starts to the season. She scored a goal and had an assist in Pima’s 5-0 win at Glendale Community College. She went on to score two goals in their 6-0 victory at Mesa Community College. The Aztecs have started the season at 3-0.
Acosta has four goals and nine points in the first three games.
The No. 11 ranked Aztecs return to the West Campus Aztec Soccer Field part of the Chapman Automotive Sports Complex on Tuesday when they host Chandler-Gilbert Community College at 5:30 p.m.
