(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College volleyball team (5-5, 2-1 in ACCAC) dropped its first ACCAC conference match on Wednesday at Eastern Arizona College (6-8, 3-0).
The No. 19 ranked Aztecs tied the match in the second set but dropped the next two games falling in four sets (25-23, 21-25, 25-21 25-18) to the Gila Monsters.
Sophomore Deanna Almaguer led the Aztecs with 12 kills and also added two blocks. Sophomore Andrea Vigil-German (Ironwood Ridge HS) also had double digits in kills with 10 to go along with eight digs.
Sophomore Jessica Bright-Schade (Safford HS) fell short of a double-double with nine kills and 14 digs. Sophomore Kaylee Moseley (Marana HS) posted six kills and six blocks.
Sophomore Karla Soto (Nogales HS) finished the match with 18 assists, eight digs and four aces while fellow sophomore Isabella Jacome had 14 assists and two aces.
The Aztecs will return to West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Friday when they host Mesa Community College. The match begins at 7:00 p.m.
