(Phoenix, AZ) Arizona Rattlers defensive back Dillion Winfrey has been awarded the ‘IFL Week-16 Defensive Player of the Week’ honors, for his efforts in Arizona’s 55-28 home victory over the Tucson Sugar Skulls on Sunday.
In Arizona’s sixth-straight home victory, Winfrey finished with four solo tackles, two pass breakups, three interceptions and returned one interception for a touchdown.
On the season, Winfrey leads all IFL defenders in interceptions (7) and passes defended (24).
Winfrey’s ‘Week-16 Defensive Player of the Week’ (DPOW) selection is the first award for him this season, and the second DPOW award of Winfrey’s IFL career (2019).
The Rattlers have now garnered five total POW selections in 2021 (Powell – Week 7, Wyatt Jr – Week 8, Lacayo – Week 14, Powell – Week 15).
Arizona continues its pursuit of home field advantage in the IFL Playoffs on the road this Friday, August 13 at 7:05 p.m. against the Spokane Shock (6-5).
