(Phoenix, AZ) The six-time world champion Arizona Rattlers have announced that they will play at full capacity for all of their 2021 home games at Phoenix Suns Arena.
The Rattlers are the first IFL team to announce that their home games will be played at 100 percent capacity, as team President and Head Coach Kevin Guy instated numerous Covid-19 health and safety protocols in order to make this possible.
“We are used to winning in this building. We just looked at Covid as our next opponent. So after having several discussions at the league level and with the arena, we collaborated on a plan that would allow for us to create the safest environment possible for our players, coaches, corporate partners and fans to return to the games,” Guy said.
“Playing without fans was not an option, so we wanted our organization to set an example and put a strong plan in place for a safe and successful return to play.”
On the first day of Rattlers training camp, over 60 players, coaches and front office members were tested for Covid-19, with 100 percent of the tests coming back negative.
“From day one, all of our players and coaches bought in, because it came down to playing the games,” Guy said.
The Arizona Rattlers’ first home game of the 2021 IFL season will take place on Saturday, June 12 vs. the Tucson Sugar Skulls. All spectators at Phoenix Suns Arena are required to wear masks at this time. For the Rattlers’ full 2021 schedule, visit azrattlers.com and call 602-514-8274 to inquire about season memberships.
