Kim scores two, Quiroz and Jang dish out two assists as Aztecs men’s soccer blanks GateWay CC

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (2-0) hosted its 2020-21 home opener at the West Campus Aztec Soccer Field on Thursday against GateWay Community College.

The No. 1 ranked Aztecs shut out the Geckos 5-0.

Sophomore Seungeon Kim scored two goals in the 22^nd and the 64^th minutes. Sophomore Manuel Quiroz (Sunnyside HS) provided the assists on both of Kim’s goals. Quiroz also put the Aztecs on the board with his goal in the 21^st minute.

Sophomore Hyeonsang Jang also had two assists in back-to-back goals. He found sophomore Saul Lopez (Cienega HS) for his goal in the 29^th minute to make it 3-0 and found sophomore Kevin Tchoffo for his goal in the 35^th minute.

The Aztecs outshot the Geckos 15-4 for the game. Sophomore Juan Suarez (Desert View HS) finished with four saves (all in the first half).

The Aztecs will play at Paradise Valley Community College on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
