(Tucson, AZ) The Tucson Sugar Skulls have signed defensive lineman Prince Unaegbu for the 2021 Indoor Football League season.
DL Prince Unaegbu (6’5” 275, Pace University) joins the Tucson Sugar Skulls for his rookieseason in the IFL. After a five-year playing career at Pace, Unaegbu spent time with both the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL and the Los Angeles Chargers of the NFL in 2019. Unaegbu spent his first four years at Pace as a tight end, hauling in 10 catches for 114 yards and three touchdowns. He then transitioned to defensive end in his fifth year at Pace, totaling 55 tackles, 8.5 tackles-for-loss, 5.5 sacks and a forced fumble in his final season for the Setters.
After just his first season playing on the defensive line, Unaegbu earned Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team honors. He was named Defensive Player of the Week and Homecoming MVP following victories against Merrimack College and Southern Connecticut State University, respectively. The Boston, Massachusetts native also doubled as a two-way player at Brighton High School, where he was the varsity team captain and Most Valuable Player his senior year.
