(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s and women’s track & field teams competed at the Cody McBride Invitational on Saturday at Paradise Valley Community College.
Freshman Reece Gardner (Marana HS) earned an NJCAA national qualifying mark in the pole vault with a mark of 4.45 meters (14-feet, 7-inches). He is the second men’s pole vaulter to set a national qualifier. Freshman Bryce Williams set his mark on March 6 at the Mesa Outdoor Invitational.
Freshman Reise Way (Buena HS) came close to earning a national qualifying time in the 400 meter hurdles. He took fourth with a time of 55.75 seconds. The qualifier is 55.20.
Freshman Chalen Lozano (Marana HS) also came close to setting a national qualifying time in the 10,000 meter race at Thursday’s Distance in the Dark hosted by Paradise Valley. He took second place with a time of 33 minutes, 53.58 seconds. The qualifier is 33:08.39.

The Aztecs will compete in the ACCAC conference Meet next Saturday at Mesa Community College.
