(Tucson, AZ) The Tucson Sugar Skulls have announced a one-year partnership agreement with CW Tucson that officially designates it as the television home of Sugar Skulls football for a second straight season.
“The CW proved to be a great partner for us during our inaugural season,” Sugar Skulls Owner Cathy Guy said. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue working together for the 2021 season.”
As the Sugar Skulls’ official television partner, CW Tucson will continue to provide the Tucson market with exclusive english-language telecasts of all Tucson Sugar Skulls home games throughout the 2021 Indoor Football League season.
The games will be televised live locally on The CW, KWBA-TV, Channel 58. All games will also be simulcasted live on the IFL’s Youtube channel for fans outside of the Tucson market.
“We’re very excited to be the television home of the Tucson Sugar Skulls,” said Tregg White, Vice President and General Manager of KGUN/KWBA.
“KWBA, The CW Tucson, is now the television home for the Sugar Skulls and the Tucson Road Runners. Local sports entertainment is now on your local television station, The CW Tucson.”
The Sugar Skulls’ 2021 regular season will kick off on Friday, May 21 in Green Bay, with their first home game taking place on Saturday, June 5 against the Iowa Barnstormers. The 2021 season will be the Sugar Skulls’ second season of operation, after 2019 saw them become the first expansion franchise in IFL history to qualify for the postseason.
