(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s basketball team added two more players to its 2020 Recruiting Class.
Kolby Lathrop (Ironwood Ridge HS) and Quinn Atazhoon (Gallup HS, NM) will join the Aztecs and begin their collegiate careers in the 2020-21 season.
Lathrop, a 6-5 forward, averaged 11.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.8 blocks in 18 games as a junior with the Nighthawks.
Coach’s Quote: “Kolby is kind of an unknown. He missed his senior season year due to injury. I liked what I saw his junior year,” Pima men’s basketball coach Brian Peabody said. “He is tough with a great deal of athleticism.”
Atazhoon, a 6-5 guard/forward, nearly averaged a double-double in his senior season with the Bengals. He posted 21.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
Coach’s Quote: “Quinn is a great shooter with size,” Peabody said. “He is 6’5” with length. Hopefully he can fill the role of (Jake) Lieppert.”
