(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College women’s basketball player Alyssa Perez (Marana HS) signed her national letter of intent on Sunday and will continue her education and collegiate career at the four-year university level.
Perez, a guard, signed to play at Rocky Mountain College, an NAIA school in Billings, MT. She will join former Aztecs Shauna Bribiescas (Dobson HS) and Izzy Spruit (Mesquite HS) on the Battlin’ Bears squad.
Perez was named second team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II this season as he helped lead the Aztecs to a 25-7 overall record and the NJCAA Region I, Division II title. She was named the game’s Most Valuable Player. Perez played and started in 30 games this season averaging 10.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
Perez played in 35 games last season and was key in Pima’s success during their fifth place finish at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. She averaged 9.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals in those four games.
