(Austin, TX) The Arizona Wildcats (8-4) secured a strong road victory on Tuesday night with an 8-6 decision over the Texas Longhorns (10-3) at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
Arizona leaped out to an 8-0 lead in the fourth inning on the backs of home runs from junior Matthew Dyer and sophomore Branden Boissiere. It was the second dinger of the season for the former and the first of the year for the latter.
Starting pitcher Dawson Netz was limited to one inning, in which he allowed zero hits and struck out a pair. Right-handed reliever Vince Vannelle replaced Netz and threw 4.1 innings of two-run ball to earn his first win of the season.
Right-hander Preston Price sealed the victory for the Cats with 2.2 strong innings to close out the game, earning Arizona their first true road win of the young season.

- Despite being out-hit 11-4, Arizona’s offense drew eight walks and were hit by pitches four times. They capitalized on those 12 free base runners for an 8-6 victory.
