(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s basketball (11-4, 5-3 in ACCAC) team got back on track on Wednesday at South Mountain Community College (5-7, 3-5).
The No. 18 ranked Aztecs gave themselves some breathing room in the fourth quarter as they beat the Cougars 57-42. The Aztecs outscored South Mountain 20-11 in the final 10 minutes.
The Aztecs led at halftime 25-21 and clinged to a 37-31 advantage after the third quarter.
Sophomore Hallie Lawson (Campo Verde HS) produced a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds. Fellow sophomore Haile Gleason scored nine points while freshman Sierra Mich’l finished with eight points on 4 for 7 shooting to go along with eight rebounds.
Sophomore Alyssa Perez (Marana HS) posted seven points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals.
The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Saturday to take on Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
