(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (4-4, 2-2 in ACCAC) fell short on the road on Saturday at Scottsdale Community College (9-1, 4-1).
The Aztecs lost to the Artichokes 72-66.
Pima trailed 34-33 at halftime and were outscored 38-33 in the second half.
Sophomore Cole Gerken (Ironwood Ridge HS) led the way with 20 points and eight rebounds. Fellow sophomore Kaylon Tippins (Cholla HS) posted a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. He also had five blocks for the game.
Sophomore Nick Rosquist (The Gregory School) also scored in double figures with 13 points to go along with four rebounds. Sophomore Rashad Smith (Hamilton HS) was held scoreless as he finished with six rebounds and four assists.
The Aztecs will be back at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Monday to host Arizona Western College in a rescheduled game from Nov. 27. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
