(TUCSON, AZ) For the first time in her career, Cate Reese has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week after averaging a double-double in two games last week. With Aari McDonald being named Pac-12 Player of the Week three weeks ago, this marks the first time since the 2004-05 season that two Wildcats have been named Conference Player of the Week in one season.

The sophomore was an absolute force against Monmouth and UTEP, averaging 17.5 points and 14 rebounds per game on 59% shooting and now scores 14.3 points and brings down 9.0 rebounds per game on 55% from the field.
On the road at UTEP while the Wildcats were shorthanded, especially in the post, Reese carried the load scoring a game-high 19 points and grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds. She also blocked three shots.
Reese now has three double-doubles this season, which is the second-most in the Pac-12 and is also the 12th player in school history to have 10 double-doubles in a career. Her nine rebounds per game ranks third in the conference.
Next up for Reese and the 18th-ranked Wildcats is Tennessee State on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. MST in McKale Center.
