(Phoenix, AZ) Grand Canyon wis first game of the season 67-54 over Arkansas – Pine Bluff.
HEAD COACH DAN MAJERLE
“Obviously very happy about the win. We needed it. The message to the guys before the game was find a way. Just find a way to win a game and we did it. We still have a ton of work to do, and our guys know that, but I am happy with the win. Hopefully, we can take some positives out of this, and move on and get ready for Montana State.”
JUNIOR CENTER ALESSANDRO LEVER
“We needed it. We had to get a win tonight and we got it. Yeah I was a little more aggressive and quick, I knew the ball was coming so I had to try and score. Everybody was trying to get the ball inside, that’s how you attack the zone by passing the ball inside and out and something is going to happen.”
JUNIOR GUARD J.J. RHYMES
“When I can get other people open and get them the ball that’s where I’m comfort- able at. That’s just what it is, I like having fun and getting other people involved, and when we all have fun that turns into wins. Discipline. Be more disciplined, that’s what is going to carry it over. Especially playing against Montana State we’ve got to be disciplined. We’re not disciplined.”
