Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College volleyball team (8-10) earned its second straight set victory in as many days.
The Aztecs defeated SAGU American Indian College 25-18, 25-6, 25-12 in a non-conference match.
Up 19-15 in the first set, the Aztecs scored four straight points to widen their lead. They led by as much as eight points at 23-15.
The Aztecs took control of the second set from the get-go as they scored the first 12 points of the game.
The Aztecs scored the first five points of the third set. Freshman Savanna White (Payson HS) put down a kill to make it 17-7 and the Aztecs never surrender their double digit lead from that point on.
White led the Aztecs with 11 kills and five blocks. Fellow freshman Bergen Campbell fell short of a double-double as she finished with nine kills and eight digs.
Sophomore Annie Pena (Sabino HS) posted seven kills and six digs while freshman Courtney Ely (Ironwood Ridge HS) had five kills and six digs. Freshman Kaitlyn Cook finished with 17 assists and two aces.
The Aztecs get back to ACCAC conference play on Friday against Mesa Community College. First serve is at 7:00 p.m.
