(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (4-3, 1-0 in ACCAC) opened ACCAC conference play on Thursday with a big road victory.
The Aztecs rallied to force overtime and went on to beat Paradise Valley Community College 2-1 in overtime. Freshman Reilly Marks (Salpointe Catholic HS) scored the game-winner in the 95th minute with an assist from fellow freshman Savannah Samorano (Tucson HS)
Marks also had a hand in the game-tying goal. Sophomore Taylor Gutierrez (Tucson HS) tied the game at 1-1 in the 54th minute with an assist by Marks.
The Pumas (5-3-1, 0-1) got on the board first in the 4th minute.
Sophomore Jorie Paul (Cienega HS) finished the game with four saves.
The Aztecs avenged their loss against the Pumas from earlier this season. Pima fell 1-0 on Aug. 29.
The Aztecs will hit the road again next Thursday as they play GateWay Community College at Copper Sky Park in Maricopa. Kickoff will be at 4:30 p.m.
