(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (5-1-1, 1-0 in ACCAC) picked up a win on the road to begin ACCAC conference play.
The No. 7 ranked Aztecs scored three goals in each half to beat Paradise Valley Community College 6-3 on Thursday in Phoenix.
Freshman Estevan Manzo (Salpointe Catholic HS) produced a hat trick as he put the Aztecs on the scoreboard in the 14th minute with an assist from sophomore Ricky Gordillo (Maya HS). Manzo scored his second goal in the 55th minute to make it 4-1. Gordillo assisted on the goal again. Manzo completed the hat trick with a goal in the 61stminute to give Pima 6-1 advantage.
Freshmen Javier Martinez (Tucson HS) and Josh Allison (Corona del Sol HS) as well as sophomore Itsuki Ishihara each netted goals for the Aztecs.
Sophomore goalkeeper Nils Roth finished the game with three saves.
The Aztecs swept the regular season head-to-head meetings with the Pumas (3-6, 0-1). Pima won 2-1 last month at Kino North Stadium.
The Aztecs will hit the road again next Thursday, Sept. 26 when they play GateWay Community College at Copper Sky Park in Maricopa. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
