(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s and women’s track & field teams completed the second day of competition at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Friday in Hobbs, NM.
Sophomore Katherine Bruno (Canyon del Oro HS) took sixth place in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 12 minutes, 10.62 seconds. She earned three team points for the Aztecs.
Freshman Mary Siml finished right behind Bruno in the steeplechase as she claimed seventh place with a time of 12:11.14 earning two team points.
Other Pima track & field finishes on Friday:
Sophomore Mecca Marks (Desert Edge HS) – 14.83 seconds in 100 meter hurdle prelims (personal-record).
Sophomore Luis Oviedo (Rio Rico HS) – 18th in 3,000 steeplechase 10:29.62.
The final day of the NJCAA Division I Championships is on Saturday as competition begins at 10:00 a.m. (MDT).
