(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College baseball player Cole Cummings stood out on offense last week and the ACCAC conference took notice.
Cummings, a freshman infielder, was named ACCAC Division I Player of the Week on Monday for the week of Apr. 15-21. He is the seventh Aztec to be selected player of the week.
Cummings batted .615 (8 for 13) as the Aztecs went 3-1 against Eastern Arizona College and Cochise College. He had 12 RBIs, eight runs scored, three triples, two homers, five walks and two stolen bases. He was 3 for 4 with seven RBIs and three runs scored in Pima’s 14-3 win over Eastern Arizona College.
He is batting .369 this season with 12 doubles, five triples, two home runs, 39 RBIs, 29 walks and 13 stolen bases.
The Aztecs close out their regular season home schedule on Tuesday when they host Arizona Western College in an ACCAC Division I doubleheader. They will recognize their 14 sophomores before the first game. First pitch is at noon.
