(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s tennis team (3-3) finished the regular season with an even record after beating Paradise Valley Community College on Tuesday at the West Campus Tennis Courts.
The Aztecs defeated the Pumas 6-1 and swept the regular season meetings.
In singles competition, sophomore Chris McDaniels (Tanque Verde HS) defeated Tyler Peters at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-3.
Freshman Oscar Aguilera downed Jose Diaz in the No. 2 singles match 6-1.
Sophomore Beau Boyer (Cibola HS) won his No. 3 singles match over Alex Hernandez 6-0, 6-1.
McDaniels and Boyer dropped a close match at No. 1 doubles to Peters and Diaz 9-7.
The Aztecs won the No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles matches by forfeit.
The Aztecs will compete at the NJCAA Region I Championships on Tuesday and Wednesday, Apr. 16-17 at the Paseo Racquet Center in Glendale, AZ. Play begins on both days around 8:00 a.m.
