(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College men’s basketball player Abram Carrasco (Cholla HS) claimed his third ACCAC Division II Player of the Week award on Thursday for the week of Feb. 18-24.
Carrasco, a guard, averaged 31.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game. He shot 59.5 percent from the field and was 9 for 17 from three-point range. He scored 41 points in Pima’s 107-102 win against Phoenix College last Saturday.
Carrasco finished second in the ACCAC Player of the Year voting as he was selected first team All-ACCAC and first team All-Region I, Division II.
He needs 12 points to pass Greg Cook’s record set in 1980 for the most points scored in a Pima career. Carrasco has a total of 1,229 points.
The No. 1 seeded Aztecs will host No. 4 Glendale Community College on Wednesday at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium in the NJCAA Region I, Division II semifinals. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
