(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (14-4, 7-3 in ACCAC) had its 10-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday at Phoenix College (7-11, 2-8).
The No. 9 ranked Aztecs fell to the Bears 111-96; suffering their first loss since Dec. 2 at Arizona Western College.
The Aztecs took a 54-48 lead but were outscored by 21-points at 63-42 for the second half.
Sophomore Davonte Eason (Tucson HS) led the Aztecs with a team-high 24 points. He scored 16 in the second half. Fellow sophomore Kennedy Koehler scored 18 of his 22 points in the first half.
Sophomore Robert Wilson (Salpointe Catholic HS) finished with 15 points while freshman Cole Gerken (Ironwood Ridge HS) contributed with 11 points.
The Aztecs look to bounce back on Saturday when they host Glendale Community College at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
