Kametani and German’s opportunity helps seal win as No. 3 Aztecs men’s soccer downs No. 8 Phoenix College

(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (16-2) played another tightly contested match with Phoenix College on Tuesday where one goal decided the game.

Sophomore Hugo Kametani scored his 20^th goal of the season with an assist from sophomore Isaias German in the 85^th minute as the No. 3 ranked Aztecs beat No. 8 Phoenix College 1-0 in Phoenix.

It was Pima’s fifth straight shutout victory and their eighth straight overall.

Freshman Nils Roth finished the game with one save as the Aztecs held the Bears (14-3) without a shot on goal in the second half.

The Aztecs swept the regular season meetings with the Bears. The Aztecs won 1-0 last month at Kino North Stadium.

The Aztecs face another tough test on Thursday when they host Yavapai College at Kino North Stadium. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
