The Pima Community College football team (2-1) was in a high-scoring affair on Saturday at Phoenix College.
The Aztecs and the Bears combined to score 105 points as Pima downed Phoenix College 64-41.
Freshman quarterback Brooks Ringer could not be stopped as he accounted for six of Pima’s touchdowns. He threw five touchdown passes and ran for an 8-yard score. Sophomore Larry Rembert was Ringer’s favorite target in the first half as he caught seven passes for 218 yards and a touchdown.
Ringer threw two touchdowns to sophomore Jon Cole, who finished with five catches for 97 yards. Sophomores Ronson Young and Dylan Holt also had touchdown grabs.
The defense and special teams also put points on the board for the Aztecs. Sophomore Leonard Lee scored on a 50-yard interception return in the first quarter. Freshman Macarius Blount (Mountain Pointe HS) scored on a 101-yard kickoff return in the third quarter to make it 56-27.
The Aztecs will host their first home game of the season next Saturday against Scottsdale Community College at Kino North Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
