Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (3-2) sealed its second shutout victory of the season on Tuesday.
The Aztecs defeated GateWay Community College 2-0 at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex in Phoenix.
After a scoreless first half, the Aztecs took the lead when sophomore Tayler Rinehart found the back of the net in the 51st minute. Sophomore Kylee Martin (Sahuaro HS) added an insurance goal in the 88th minute with an assist from fellow sophomore Paola Ruedaflores (Nogales HS).
Sophomore Mackenzie Bernal (Tanque Verde HS) finished with one save in the first half. Freshman Haven Chambers (Walden Grove HS) had a save in the second half.
The Aztecs will be back at the Kino North Stadium on Thursday to host Scottsdale Community College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
