The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (11-2) rallied from an early deficit to earn the win on the road.
The No. 6 ranked Aztecs defeated Paradise Valley Community College 5-3 on Saturday in Phoenix. The Aztecs trailed 1-0 scored three unanswered goals in the first half to take a 3-1 lead at the break. Pima netted two in the second half to close it out.
Sophomore Hugo Kametani scored two goals in the 42nd and 70th minutes. Freshman Nico Walschburger had two assists; one was on Kametani’s second goal and the other was on freshman Alberto Villegas’ (Flowing Wells HS) goal also in the 70th minute.
Sophomore David Silva finished the game with three saves.
The Aztecs swept the Pumas in the two regular season games. Pima won 8-1 last month at Kino
The Aztecs will be back at Kino North Stadium on Tuesday when they host Glendale Community College. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. The Aztecs beat the Gauchos 5-1 last month in Glendale.
