The Pima Community College volleyball team (7-7) evened up its record after the first day of play in San Diego, CA.
After dropping the first set, the Aztecs rallied to beat San Diego City College in four sets 23-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-11.
Freshman Kaleigh Hockett (Desert Mountain HS) finished the match with 42 assists and six aces. Freshman Annie Pena (Sabino HS) had 11 kills and seven digs while sophomore Lyrica Tavesi (Pima HS) contributed with nine kills and three blocks.
The Aztecs play two matches on Saturday. They will face off with Miramar College at 10:00 a.m. and close out the day against Cuyamaca College at 12:30 p.m.
