The Pima Community College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the Dave Murray Invitational on Friday at the Randolph North Golf Course. The meet was hosted by the University of Arizona.
In the women’s 4K (2.5 miles) race, sophomore Katherine Bruno (Canyon del Oro HS) was the top junior college finisher as she took seventh place out of 45 runners with a time of 15 minutes, 06.2 seconds. The Aztecs took third place with 90 points. Mesa Community College was fourth with 96 points.
In the men’s 6K (3.7 miles), freshman Luis Tarazon (Desert View HS) was the top finisher for the Aztecs in 31st place out of 53 competitors. He finished with a time of 20:55.6. The Aztecs placed sixth in the team standings with 141 points.
The Aztecs will compete in the ACCAC Championships on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the Glen Lakes Golf Course in Glendale. The women’s race will be at 8:00 a.m. and the men’s race will follow at 8:45 a.m.
