The Pima Community College volleyball team (6-4) didn’t let a tough five-set match defeat stop them from flexing their muscles in their final two matches on Friday at the Scottsdale Classic
The Aztecs took a 2-1 lead but fell in five sets to Benedictine University-Mesa (12-25, 25-23, 26-28, 27-25, 16-14).
The Aztecs responded with straight set victory against Ottawa University-Phoenix 25-12, 25-17, 25-14.
In their third match of the day, the Aztecs rallied from a 2-1 deficit to top Division I team The College of Southern Nevada in a five-set tiebreaker 25-17, 22-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-9.
The Aztecs will play one match to close out the Scottsdale Classic on Saturday as they play a non-conference match against Arizona Western College at 8:30 a.m.
