The Pima Community College football team (1-1) picked up its first win of the season on Saturday at Glendale Community College (1-3).
The Aztecs defeated the Gauchos 30-13 as the defense picked off six passes for the game. The Aztecs scored the first 23 points to take control.
Sophomores Tony Fair, Leonard Lee, Christian Maddox, Tommy Lawrence (Mountain View HS) and freshmen Leon Huey and Moris Lugo each had an interception.
Freshman kicker Jaime Avila (Marana HS) scored 12 points himself going 3 for 3 in field goals (29, 20, 26 yards) and 3 for 3 in extra points.
Sophomore wide receiver Larry Rembert caught a 91-yard touchdown pass from freshman Marquise Cooper for the first score of the game. Freshman Nick Brahler (Ironwood Ridge HS) and Jordan Porter (Cholla HS) scored on touchdown runs of 3 and 8-yards respectively.
The Aztecs will be back on the road next Saturday, Sept. 22 when they play at Phoenix College at 7:00 p.m.
