Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (1-1) rebounded from a one-sided loss on Thursday to find new strength at Kino North Stadium on Saturday.
Freshman Wendy Mendoza (Pueblo HS) scored the eventual game-winning goal on a 30-yard shot that was set up by sophomore Annalisa Verdugo (Pueblo HS) in the 73rd minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper Mackenzie Bernal was forced to make a diving save in the 87thminute as she finished the game with eight saves.
The Aztecs had plenty of opportunities in the first half but just could not put one away. They had six shots on goal in the first half while the Coyotes had three.
The Aztecs will return to Kino North Stadium on Tuesday when they host Paradise Valley Community College at 7:00 p.m.
