Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College women’s golf team hosted the Pima Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at The Views Golf Club in Oro Valley.
The Aztecs finished a season-best third place in the team standings with a two-day score of 785 (403-382). They had placed fourth in the first three tournaments of the season. Mesa Community College took first place (681-329-352) while Chandler-Gilbert Community College took second (693-355-338).
Freshman Araceli Esquivel (Salpointe Catholic HS) had the best individual total for the Aztecs as she tied for eighth place with a two-day score of 178. She improved by 12-strokes in her second round of play (95-83).
Freshman Elizabeth Satterfield (Ironwood Ridge HS) finished in 14th place with a score of 195 (98-97). Sophomore Juliana Perez (Tucson HS) shot a 206 (103-103) while freshman Julianne Gonzalez (Ironwood Ridge HS) finished at 208 (109-99).
The Aztecs will play in their fifth tournament at the Paradise Valley Community College Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Apr. 2-3 at the Wildfire Golf Course (Faldo Course) in Phoenix, AZ. The teams begin to tee off at 12:00 p.m.
