The Pima Community College women’s basketball team came ready to play Tuesday night.
In the semi final showdown, Glendale Community College would prove a tough opponent in the first half. Both teams were fierce on defense keeping each other’s points below fifty at the half.
Up 47-33 at halftime, the Aztecs went on a twenty-two point rampage before letting Glendale even get the ball to a rim. Though, GCC would pick up some points during the remainder of the quarter and allow Pima to score eleven more points before going into the fourth quarter.
Throughout the game, there was no true star or player of the game for the Aztecs. Every player on the court contributed to the 80-46 third quarter ending and 99-59 final score.
Freshman Jacqulynn Nakai (Coconino HS) did play a major role in setting up the Aztecs for their shots. Nakai had three steals, four assists, and six points to add in the third quarter alone. With the sight of a remarkable comeback in the far distance, Glendale would top off the fourth quarter with thirteen points and Pima would end the quarter with nineteen points.
The Aztecs came out victors in the semi final match big by a score of 99-59.
