Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (24-2, 16-2 in ACCAC) used a 13-point swing between the first and second half to down Cochise College (19-7, 12-6) on Wednesday in Douglas.
The No. 5 ranked Aztecs defeated the Apaches 96-86 for their 10th straight victory. They outscored the Apaches 55-44 in the second half after trailing 42-41 at halftime.
Sophomore Ilunga Moise (Raymond S. Kellis HS) had a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds while fellow sophomore Alize Travis fell short of a double-double with 23 points and eight assists. Freshman Abram Carrasco (Cholla HS) scored 14 points.
The Aztecs swept the regular season meetings with the Apaches. They won 87-84 last month at the West Campus Gymnasium.
The Aztecs are back at the West Campus on Saturday for a showdown with Phoenix College in a battle between the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the conference. Both teams have a 16-2 conference record. The Bears beat the Aztecs in their only road loss of the season 99-77 last month in Phoenix.
