Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College football team (2-5, 0-4 in WSFL) stayed with No. 11 ranked Snow College for a half but things unraveled in the third quarter.
The Aztecs surrendered 23 unanswered points; which included being outscored 20-0 in the third quarter in their 37-21 loss to the Badgers (6-1, 4-1) on Saturday at Kino North Stadium.
Freshman wide receiver Larry Rembert had two touchdown receptions on the day. He put the Aztecs up 7-0 in the first quarter when he caught a 15-yard pass from freshman Jordan Mariteragi. His second score came on an 85-yard touchdown reception from freshman K.C. Moore in the fourth quarter.
Down 14-7, the Aztecs tied the game with 7:56 left in the half when freshman Jayden Hall (Copper Canyon HS) scored on a 54-yard touchdown run. Sophomore Garius Thompson had an interception to set up the score for the Aztecs. The Badgers kicked a field goal with 36 seconds left to put the Aztecs behind 17-14 at halftime.
The Badgers forced four Pima turnovers for the game.
The Aztecs will be on the road next Saturday, Oct. 21 at Arizona western College in Yuma. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
