Four Aztecs women’s basketball players named All-ACCAC and All-Region

(Tucson, AZ)  Four Pima Community College women’s basketball players received accolades from the ACCAC conference on Tuesday as it released its All-Conference and All-Region Teams.

Sophomore forward Sierra Mich’l was named first team All-ACCAC and All-Region I, Division II. She played and started in all five games during the regular season averaging 14.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.6 blocks and 1.0 steal. She also averaged 82.5 percent from the free throw line.

Sophomore guard Fama Thiam (Highland HS) was selected first team All-ACCAC and All-Region I, Division II. She started in all five games and averaged 11.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She averaged 75 percent from the foul line.

Sophomore forward Nikya Orange (Tanque Verde HS) was named third team All-ACCAC and All-Region I, Division II. She was also a starter in all five games and averaged 9.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists. She shot 52.8 percent from the field.

Freshman guard Luisayde Chavez (Rio Rico HS) was selected third team All-ACCAC and All-Region I, Division II. She played in all five games coming off the bench and averaged 10.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.0 steals. She shot 50 percent from three-point range.

The Aztecs will play Mountain View College in the NJCAA Division II Southwest District Championship on Friday at 6:00 p.m. (MST).
