Salisbury ties for seventh place as Aztecs men’s golf takes fourth at Chandler-Gilbert Invitational

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s golf team closed out the regular season on Sunday at the Chandler-Gilbert Invitational in Queen Creek, AZ.

The Aztecs took fourth place in the team standings for the third time this season as they finished with a team score of 570; shooting 1-over par as a team on both days (285-285) at the Los Colinas Golf Course. They were 10-strokes behind Mesa Community College for third place (560).

Freshman Samuel Salisbury (Walden Grove HS) tied for seventh place in the individual standings as he shot a 3-under par 139 (69-70) for the tournament.

Freshman Cody Goza (Blue Ridge HS) finished Sunday’s round with a 2-under par 69 and posted an even-par score of 142 (73-69) in his two rounds of play. He was tied for 14th in the standings.

Freshman Dylan Mattson (Cienega HS) shot a 2-under par 69 in his first round and finished tied for 17th with a two-day score of 143 (69-74). Freshman Curtis Goldin (McClintock HS) was tied for 25th place with a total of 147 (75-72).

The Aztecs will compete in the NJCAA Region I, Division I Championships from Thursday to Sunday, Apr. 25-29 at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort in Gold Canyon, AZ.
