Esquivel takes fifth place at Paradise Valley Invitational

Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College women’s golf team competed in its fifth tournament at the Paradise Valley Invitational on

Monday and Tuesday at the Wildfire Golf Course in Phoenix.
The Aztecs took fourth place with a two-day total of 793 (398-410).

Mesa Community College took first place with 679 (342-337), Chandler-Gilbert Community College was second at 748 (373-375) and South Mountain Community College placed third with 765 (398-367).

Sophomore Araceli Esquivel (Salpointe Catholic HS) earned her fourth top-5 finish of the season as she took fifth place with a score of 169 (85-84).

Sophomore Tanna Cole (Flowing Wells HS) shot a 204 (104-100) and finished in 13th place. Sophomore Julianna Perez (Tucson HS) completed play with a 211 (97-114) while freshmen Elizabeth Satterfield (Ironwood Ridge HS) and Julienne Gonzalez (Ironwood Ridge HS) each shot a 213.

The Aztecs will play in the Chandler-Gilbert Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Las Colinas Golf Club in Queen Creek. Teams begin to tee off at 1:00 p.m.
