(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College softball team (8-18, 8-18 in ACCAC) struggled to manufacture runs on Saturday as it lost two games to Eastern Arizona College (19-20, 14-12).
The Aztecs stranded 16 runners on the day and have now dropped eight straight.. Freshman Lesly Cazares (Desert View HS) had a pair of RBI hits in the second game.
Game 1: Eastern Arizona College Gila Monsters 6, Pima CC Aztecs 0
The Aztecs finished with five hits for the game and left eight runners on base.
Freshman Isabella Escobar finished 2 for 3 while freshmen Jazmin Ayala (Sunnyside HS), Mariah Bartlett and Kayla Gonzales (Salpointe Catholic HS) each went 1 for 3.
Freshman Anisah Triste took the loss (4-10) as she pitched five and two-third innings giving up six runs (five earned) on seven hits with three strikeouts and three walks.

Game 2: Eastern Arizona College Gila Monsters 11, Pima CC Aztecs 2
The Gila Monsters scored a run in the 1st and six runs in the 2nd inning to take an early lead.
The Aztecs got on the board in the 5th inning. Freshman Gabrielle Favela led off with a single and with two outs, freshman Lesly Cazares (Desert View HS) hit an RBI single to drive her in.
Freshman Desiree Martinez (Canyon del Oro HS) hit a one-out double in the 7th inning and scored on Cazares’ RBI double.
Cazares finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs while Favela and Martinez each went 1 for 3 with a run scored. Freshman Kelli Samorano (Tucson Magnet HS) went 2 for 3 while Triste was 2 for 4.
Freshman Lorisa Martinez took the loss (2-3) as she pitched one and two-third innings giving up five runs (four earned) on five hits.

The Aztecs are back at the West Campus Aztec Softball Field on Thursday when they host Glendale Community College in an ACCAC doubleheader. First pitch is at 1:00 p.m.
