Aztecs baseball earns 18th straight victory after overwhelming Community Christian College

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College baseball team (28-6) broke out the bats on Thursday and scored a season-high 21 runs against Community Christian College in a non-conference game at the West Campus Aztec Baseball Field.

The Aztecs defeated the Saints 21-0 in seven innings to earn their 18th straight win.The Aztecs took control with eight runs in the 3rd inning, seven runs in the 5th and five in the 6thinning.

Freshman Alec Acevedo (Nogales HS) hit a 2-run RBI double with one out in the 3rd inning. He also hit an RBI double in the 2nd inning.
Freshman Trent Kiraly hit a 2-run RBI single in the 5th inning.

Freshman Fernando Loera hit a 2-run RBI single in the 5th and cleared the bases with a 3-run RBI triple in the 6th inning.

Loera finished the game 2 for 2 with five RBIs and two runs scored while Acevedo went 2 for 3 with three RBIs. Freshman James Kobylt was 2 for 2 with two RBIs and a run and Kiraly finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a run.

Sophomore JJ Rollon (Skyline HS) was 2 for 2 with two runs and freshman Zavien Watson went 1 for 1 with an RBI and two runs.

Freshman Atley Jacome picked up the win in relief (2-0) after he pitched two innings giving up three hits with one strikeout and one walk.

The Aztecs will get back to ACCAC conference play on Saturday when they host Chandler-Gilbert Community College in a doubleheader. First game at noon.
