Wierman shoots even par after first round of Scottsdale Invitational

(Sun City, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s golf team started play in its second tournament of the season on Monday at the Scottsdale Invitational held at the Hillcrest Golf Club in Sun City, AZ.

Sophomore Connor Wierman (Ironwood Ridge HS) shot an even-par 72 and is tied for 8thplace in the individual standings. He is four shots behind Cecil Belisle from South Mountain Community College, who sits atop the leaderboard.

Freshman Andrew Rivas (Canyon del Oro HS) shot a 79 on the day while sophomore Jackson Williams (Ironwood Ridge HS) closed out his day with a 94.

The Aztecs close out play at the Scottsdale Invitational on Tuesday. Teams begin to tee off at 11:00 a.m.
