(Tucson, AZ)  It was learned today that sophomore guard Bryce Nixon has entered the transfer portal.

Nixon came to Arizona two years ago out Arcadia High School in Phoenix where she was a standout as she was named First-Team Division II All-Arizona.

Nixon  averaged twenty points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals in her junior season. She had two season high thirty one point back to back games.

She was part of the 2017-18 recruiting class that included Adia Barnes’s first McDonald’s All Amercan in Cate Reese and Smaj Smith, the team’s tallest player that are still on the squad.

Shalyse Smith and Valeria Trucco were also part of the #4 rated recruiting class. Smith transferred after playing just a few minutes her freshman year and Trucco never made it to campus as she decided to stay in her home country of Italy to continue her career.

With the influx of foreign players like Helena Pueyo from Spain, Nixon’s playing time diminished and she went from being the first player off the bench to only getting  a few minutes a game at the end of the season.

We will have to see where Nixon decides to play and if she will be required to sit out next season.
