Final shot attempt hits post as time expires on Aztecs women’s soccer against Phoenix College

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (2-3) simply ran out of time on Thursday in its lost against Phoenix College (3-0-2) at Kino North Stadium.

The Aztecs fell to the Bears 1-0. Lydiana Tavison scored the only goal of the game for the Bears in the 55th minute.

Sophomore Taylor Gutierrez (Tucson HS) had a final shot at the goal but it hit the left post as time expired. Freshman Savannah Samorano (Tucson HS) had a good shot at the goal with four minutes remaining but the shot sailed just off of the goal post.

Sophomore Jorie Paul (Cienega HS) finished the game with three saves.

The Aztecs will hit the road for the next five games. They will play at Glendale Community College on Saturday for a morning match-up. Kickoff is set for 9:00 a.m.
