Aguilera’s Stunner Lifts Arizona to Overtime Win

(TUCSON, Ariz)

The University of Arizona women’s soccer team defeated Utah by a score of 2-1 Friday Night in Tucson. The first goal of the night came from the Utes in the 48th minute, with a hard strike from the six-yard box. Minutes later, Jill Aguilera responded with a volley that tied the game up 1-1. The score remained knotted until Aguilera fired a shot from outside the 18 to earn the Cats their victory, and her fourth goal of the season.

The Cats will take the field again this Sunday at noon to face the Colorado Buffaloes at Mulcahy Stadium. The match will be broadcasted on Pac-12 Networks.

82′ – Jada Talley made a promising run into the box but could not create enough space to get a shot off.

84′ – Kelcey Cavarra attempted a header from the top of the 18, but it was easy work for the Utah keeper.

90′ – The clock reads ninety and we headed to overtime level at one.

96′ – Midway through the first overtime and neither side had recorded a shot.

100′ – Porter tried to win it from distance in the waning moments of the first overtime but the shot was a bit too high. We headed to a second overtime!

105′ – Burdett’s best save of the night keeps the Cats alive in overtime.
