Spotlight Game of the Week – Sabino Sabercats

(Tucson, AZ) After opening the season on the road at Casa Grande Union High School, the Sabercats came home licking their wounds after a inexplicable loss.

According to Head Coach Ryan McBreyer, Sabino kept shooting themselves in foot with too many costly mistakes. Getting  outplayed and losing is one thing, but losing a game you should have won hits the height of the frustration meter.

The Sabercats only we’re down by one point at the half because of a missed extra point.

The Sabercat’s offense was relatively non existent, being held under two hundred yards for the entire game, yet they were still in it until a pick six in the fourth quarter sealed the win for home team.

Next up for Sabino is the 520 Spotlight Game of the Week versus their eastside rival Sahuaro Cougars. These Cats also lost, but by a scant one point 15-14 to the Buena Colts. The game was rained out on Friday and played the next morning.

With both teams coming off a loss and this being a rivalry game, anything goes and it’ll be difficult to see either team with a decisive advantage.

Be sure to tune in on the 520 Sports Talk Facebook Page for the Frog & Firkin Pre-Game Show at 6:45 pm with the kickoff at 7 pm.

We will have a halftime run down on each team on the Jim Miller State Farm Halftime Report.

At the conclusion of the contest, we will have the winning coach and stars of the game, including choosing the 520 Sports Talk Player of the Game.

Don’t miss out!
