Aztecs men’s soccer rally from two goals down to stun Glendale CC

  

 

Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (6-1-1) looked to be in a tough spot for much of the first half but the Aztecs rallied on Tuesday against Glendale Community College.

The No. 12 ranked Aztecs overcame a 2-0 deficit in the first half to beat the Gauchos (2-3-2) 3-2 at Pioneer Park in Peoria.

Sophomore Julian Gaona (Tucson HS) put the Aztecs ahead for good with his goal in the 81stminute that was assisted by Caleb Sanchez (Canyon del Oro HS).

The Gauchos scored in the 6th and 32ndminutes to take the early advantage. Freshman Giovanni Ahumada (Tucson HS) put the Aztecs on the board in the 38th minute with an assist from sophomore Chris Cooper (University HS). The Aztecs trailed 2-1 at the break.

Freshman Hugo Kametani tied the game in the 54th minute with a goal that was again assisted by Cooper.

Freshman David Silva finished the game with two saves.

The Aztecs are off until Tuesday, Sept. 19 when they return to Kino Sports Complex to face off against Mesa Community College at 7:00 p.m.
